| | | This project was unique in many ways. The SBC was asked if there was anyone interested in the crew to go to NYC for a few weeks and transform a "simple patio space into a Greek garden." I was excited to take on this project not only to try something new but also work somewhere different. The homeowner has wonderful design insight and provided us with hand sketches which the GC converted into concept drawings. With these in hand, my two person crew went down and created the space here. This time we didn't do the stucco or brick work, but we built the walls, applied the lattice work, and helped with final layout of lights, doors, and architectural features. After the initial space was created the homeowner asked B3 to come down and finish off the space, building flower boxes and filling them with the box bushes and grass seed. At the end of this project the client and I sat down in the space to have a drink together. It was then that I fully understood his vision. I was able to provide an almost surreal retreat in the middle of the city, taking you to a timeless garden by walking out of his backdoor.
